Rachel's flying after skydive ; Teenager raises funds for children

A YOUNG fundraiser has taken a leap of faith to raise cash for achildren's charity.

Rachel Bibby, 16, took part in a tandem parachute jump and raisedPounds 386 for the Make A Wish Foundation. Rachel, who lives inBlackmore, said: "The experience was fantastic, it felt like flying.We jumped from 13,000ft and fell at 120mph until we opened theparachute and gently glided back down to earth.

"My granddad was a paratrooper in the Army and used to do jumps,and it was something I have always wanted to do.

Excited "I was really excited to start with, but when the doorsof the plane opened I was nervous.

"It really was the most amazing experience of my life so far -but I did get a bit cold."

Make A Wish Foundation grants wishes to children and young peoplefighting life-threatening illnesses. Rachel chose the charitybecause she likes the work it does in granting wishes to childrenand wanted to help.

She raised the money through sponsorship from family and schoolfriends at Shenfield High School, where she is studying AS levels.
