NSW: Firefighters lift work bans = 2
Half of the state's 3,000 permanent firefighters went on partial strike yesterday.
Some marched on state parliament in Sydney, discarding their uniforms and helmets at the
iron gates.
They were angry that firefighters employed after 1985 were given fewer death and
disabilities benefits than their colleagues employed prior to 1985.
